A Duplicate of an LHI issued passport may be obtained where the original has been lost or destroyed.
New vet markings are required for this service.
Leisure Horse Ireland prides itself in consistently providing an excellent, efficient and cost-effective service to its owners and breeders.
In circumstances where an existing LHI passport has been lost or destroyed, a duplicate passport may be obtained, reproduced in the current EU format. New vet markings are a requirement and if you are not the current registered owner, further background checks will be necessary and this can result in delays in issuing a duplicate passport.
UK Residents:
When you get the passport back, you must also have the passport over stamped by a UK agency of your choosing to have the details uploaded to the UK Central Equine Database (CED).
Ensure you are submitting this declaration to the correct agency.
• Ensure diagram and written description are completed correctly by a qualified
veterinary surgeon and dated within 6 months of submission.
• This fully completed application form with the correct amount of cleared payment.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. Applications requiring referral or return will incur additional processing / postage fees.
2. Unresolved issues lasting beyond 6 months will result in the application being voided and
any fees paid will be forfeited.
3. Standard post return is included in registration fees (Ireland only); however, risk of loss is entirely borne by the applicant unless recorded return delivery is requested (compulsory for destinations outside of Ireland) and paid for by the applicant.
4. Ownership registration is included when applying for a Duplicate Passport, but if you
are not currently the registered owner of the animal, efforts will be made to contact the
last registered owner and / or further background checks may be necessary to establish
why the original passport is not available. This can result in delays in issuing duplicate
passports.
5. As per EU and Irish legislation, all equine issued with a duplicate passport must be
excluded from the human food chain and will be classified accordingly in Section II Part II
of the Identification Document
Operator / Owner and Equine details will be submitted to the Irish National Equine Database.
You also commit to adhering to the relevant rules & regulations as set forth by
