Register a prefix name, exclusive to you, when registering / renaming stock with LHI.
Where a prefix name has been used, it will not be changed by LHI without your permission.
Register your own unique L.H.I. prefix or suffix for use when registering your stock. A Prefix
may be registered for the sole and exclusive use of the holder(s) subject to the payment
of the fee, completion of this form and acceptance* by LHI.
1. Type of name allowable:
a. It can be a geographical name or
b. It can be a distinctive word or name
c. It must have a min of 3 characters
d. It can only have a max of 25 characters
e. Two-word prefixes are not accepted, Initials can be accepted with a
minimum of three letters
f. Breed names are not allowed
2. The individual names of ownership of the prefix must be stated in this form. Please
note that it is advisable to mention all the individuals (i.e. members of the family)
that will use the prefix as there is a cost to add names to the ownership of the prefix
once the certificate of ownership of the prefix has been issued.
3. The fee is a once off payment. There are however additional charges if changes are
made to a prefix, or in a change of ownership.
4. If you wish to use the prefix with other issuing authorities, you must contact those
authorities separately and further fees will be payable to those issuing authorities.
5. *If it subsequently transpires this application to reserve a prefix name is
demonstrated to be disingenuous, instead for example a malicious effort to thwart
someone else’s established use of a prefix name, at the sole discretion of LHI, this
application may be voided and the prefix name registered to the established user.
